5 Tips for Marketing Your Online Promo Product Giveaway

To get the most benefit from a promotional product giveaway, you need to promote it. Don’t let this overwhelm you. There are a lot of options out there. You can take them one at a time and decide on the strategies that feel most natural so you can build a promotion plan that works for you.

Before talking about promotion, you’ll want to make sure you have your giveaway strategically set up. Previously, we’ve talked about how to create a landing page for your promotional product giveaways and strategies to make the most of your promo product giveaways. If you haven’t looked at those yet, start there.

Once you have a strategy for your giveaway and have set up a landing page, you need plans for promoting your giveaway. There are many great tactics for doing this offline. Today, let’s look at how to make the most of your online presence to create interest in your contest and build buzz around your business.

1. Write Great Copy

You will promote your giveaway in many places. Before you get started, write out some compelling copy so you don’t have to worry about this later. You can tailor different versions of this copy to use every time you post about your contest.

When you write your copy, think about your brand. Is your brand fun and silly? Are you appealing to a younger or older market? This will inform your tone. For example, would your audience appreciate emojis? Should you use exclamation points?

Write a compelling call to action. Give them a reason they want to click on your giveaway. Tell them why they would be interested in your promotional product. Get them excited about it! Use urgency to get them to click now. You can easily do this by mentioning that the giveaway will end soon. You want them to fear missing out so they’ll feel the need to enter today. Don’t forget to include a link to the giveaway page.

2. Use Your Email List

We’re all always looking for new ways to engage our newsletter. Your current subscribers will be interested in this giveaway opportunity, so be sure to let them know!

3. Let Your Customers Refer You

Set up your giveaway that your customers get extra entries for referring their friends to your contest. They can get an extra entry when they post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. This encourages them to boost your signal.

4. Use Hashtags

Create a custom hashtag just for your giveaway, and research three to four others that you can use to boost visibility when you post about your giveaway. Make sure the hashtags are relevant to your audience; there’s no reason to boost visibility to people who wouldn’t be good customers anyway.

5. Partner with Others In Your Industry

If you’ve done some networking with others in your industry, now’s a great time to partner with them! You can both run giveaways at the same time to cross promote. You could run one giveaway with promotional products for both of your businesses together. It’s unnecessary for this other business to also be running a giveaway. You can offer to promote their latest product in your newsletter if they will mention your giveaway to their customers. Be creative and make an offer.
